Daisy Prints

Leather Jacket - Reiss
Shirt - Whistles (Limited edition/resort collection)
Jeans - Topshop Jamie's
Boots - Stuart Weitzman

Bag - Furla

Print up close

It's finally Spring! Although the hit-and-miss rainy weather doesn't quite make me feel like we're closer to Summer yet... But at least I can go out in a leather jacket and feel surprisingly warm enough.
I'd been eyeing up this beautiful Whistles Limited Edition shirt for months, and when the mid-season sale finally arrived, lo and behold, it was there.
I cannot get enough of this retro, slightly psychedelic print. I'm not one to wear the colour green often, but this beautiful forest green tone is wearable with almost any other colour in my wardrobe (aka navy, white and black, let's face it...). The shirt has such an edgy cut, and the gorgeous 100% silk fabric makes it an absolute delight to wear during the transition into Spring, and beyond.

Patent Leather

 Patent Boots - Office

 Pink Coat - Banana Republic
Blouse - Topshop
Denim Culottes - Topshop

As you can probably already tell, I love ankle boots - a LOT. I wear them almost every day as they are the easiest way for me to elevate any outfit, and add a bit of height (I'm only 5'2). I've been loving patent leather boots lately, as I think they add even more interest to an outfit - I managed to nab these in the Office sale for cheap, and I love them! They have a very British meets Western vibe with the patent and pointed toe, and the Western stripes on the back. They're also super comfy and go with almost anything.

On this occasion, I paired them with a few of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe that I've already displayed on the blog before - my pink coat from Banana Republic for a pop of colour, my poet blouse from Topshop for a bit of femininity, and my raw denim culottes from Topshop for a bit of edge.

The Stuart Weitzman Boots

Coat - Tommy Hillfiger

Bag - Furla

Blouse - Topshop

Jeans - Topshop Jamies

Boots - Stuart Weitzman

Sunglasses - Toyshades at Topshop (Oxford Street)

I'd been looking for a pair of black heeled knee highs, but I couldn't seem to find a single pair that were comfortable and flattering. And then, Stuart Weitzman, my favourite shoe designer, called to me... His collection of boots for Russell & Bromley had been talked about everywhere for their thigh-high, super sleek designs, and when I saw (and tried on) this pair, with the almost crescent moon shaped heel, I was sold. Alas, the price - originally marked at £500, these boots weren't going to be gracing my wardrobe any time soon.

The sale came and went, and when the boots were finally reduced to a price that I was willing to pay, my size had been completely sold out. Nevertheless, I didn't give up - and that's when eBay came into play. I found one pair of the boots, not particularly well advertised, but at the same price I last saw in the sale, and in my size. I gambled my luck a bit, and clicked "buy now" - and lo and behold, they were the real deal!

I cannot even begin to express how much I adore these boots - they're versatile, sleek, and can take me from day to night easily. On a sunny and barely chilly day in London, I paired it with a pair of super skinny jeans, a floaty white blouse, and a smart, plaid coat. Almost effortless, but with an edge.

The Coffee Traveller

 Bag - Furla
Keyring - Topshop
Printed Trousers - Whistles

 Une Latte

My new favourite coffee shop, The Coffee Traveller, has such a rustic and calming atmosphere. I love coming here when I need a break from everything, and I just want to sit, relax, and have a good strong latte. They serve brilliant cakes and sandwiches (I recommend the salted caramel brownie) and their smoothie's are fab (my favourite is 'Broccoli and the beast'). It is located in the quiet Strand-on-the-green location in Chiswick, West London (near Kew Bridge), and is moments from the river Thames. It was also the Time Out London award winner for best coffee shop in Chiswick, having only been open for a few months at the time - so congrats to the fantastic people at The Coffee Traveller for bringing us such a great chill-out spot!

Nearest transport links: Kew Bridge station (South-West Trains)

A Mothers Day Brunch

 Eggs Benedict

 Eggs Royale

Top - Glamorous at Topshop (online sale)

To honour my wonderful Mummy on Sunday the 6th of March, I took her out for a brunch meal at Bill's.
Bill's has such a great brunch menu - relatively affordable, big portions, and full of flavour. I usually steer clear of eggs when I'm out, as I'm not a huge fan myself, and order the pancakes (they are phenomenal), but this time, I decided to push myself a little bit and go for the Eggs Benedict. I had never tried poached eggs before, and this felt like the perfect time to, after my Mum praised them the last time we went to Bill's. Not only were they gorgeous looking, but they were gorgeous tasting too! I don't know why I'd never tried poached eggs before, as I love a good runny yolk but am not a fan of greasy egg white, and the poached egg is perfect for that. My Mum commented that the Eggs Royale were fab too!

We had a lovely mothering Sunday together, and I hope all of you lovely Mother's out there did too!

p.s. apologies for the lack of blog posts the last two weeks - I had laryngitis for two weeks and then had a menace of a week last week. I'll be back to regular posting now! x
